About Carp

My name is Matthew and I am self diagnosed technology geek/nerd. I teach High School Technology/Graphic Design classes and many of my students over the years have called me “Carp,” thus the name of the website.

I have been a Christian my entire life. I grew up in the Church and served as a Full-time and Part-time Pastor for over 25 years. I have a passion for Bible Study. I love to learn and the expression of thought and interpretation. My favorite translation of the Bible is the English Standard Version (ESV).

I am a technology enthusiast.  I will admit to being an Apple fan-boy, however, I do use Windows often and have a big place in my heart for Linux (I’m talking to you Ubuntu Server). I am constantly tweaking my computer setup, but currently I am using:

  • M1 Mac Mini – 16GB RAM 512 GB HD
  • Logitech MX Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
  • Logitech MX Master 3s Mouse (Logitech 502x Plus on the way)
  • Logitech Power Play Mousepad – Auto Charging of Mouse
  • 32″ LG 4K OLED Monitor
  • 3 Stream Decks – Stream Deck, Stream Deck XL, and the Stream Deck +
  • Logitech G560 Speaker System
  • iPad Pro 12.9″ M2 Version (2022)
  • MacBook Air M1

Some random factoids:

  1. In High School I was voted “Most Likely to Live in an Alternate Reality.”
  2. I was admittedly shocked when I found out that Narwhals were real animals.
  3. Yes I am weird, weird is good. Normal is overrated.
  4. I am 55 years old and still haven’t decided what I want to be when I grow up.
  5. And by the way, I love tech.
